What a mobile mechanic does
A mobile mechanic does the same repairs a neighborhood shop does on most everyday cars, trucks and SUVs, just without the shop. The tools, scan equipment and common parts ride in the work vehicle, so the job happens where your car already is. For most Dallas drivers that means no ride to arrange, no half day burned in a lobby, and no tow bill when the car won't move.
The jobs we handle most often:
- Brake pads and rotors, plus brake fluid and caliper problems
- Battery testing and replacement
- No-start diagnosis: battery, starter, fuel or ignition
- Check engine light diagnostics
- Starter and alternator replacement
- AC and cooling system problems
- Pre-purchase inspections on used cars
Why Dallas drivers go mobile
Dallas is big and spread out. Getting a car to a shop usually means a drive on Central Expressway, LBJ or the Tollway at rush hour, then finding a way back to work or home while it sits. A mobile visit flips that around. The mechanic drives through traffic instead of you, and your day keeps moving.
It also helps when the car can't go anywhere. A dead battery in a Deep Ellum parking garage, a car that won't crank in a Lake Highlands driveway, a brake warning light the morning of a long commute from Oak Cliff: these are the moments when having the shop come to you saves the most time and money.
Where we work
We come to homes, offices, apartment and condo lots, and parking garages across the city, from Uptown and Downtown to North Dallas, East Dallas, Oak Cliff and Pleasant Grove. If your building or HOA has rules about repairs in the parking area, let us know in the booking notes and we'll plan around them. A level spot with a little room to open the doors and hood is all most jobs need.
How the visit works
Book online with your car's year, make, model and engine, the address where it sits, and a time window that suits you. Your mechanic calls or texts to confirm the time and talk through what you're seeing. Once they've looked the car over, they explain what's wrong and what it will take before any work starts. Nothing is charged when you book.
Some repairs genuinely need a lift or a shop, like transmission rebuilds or major engine work. When that's the case, we tell you straight away instead of starting something we can't finish in a driveway.
Questions
How much does a mobile mechanic cost in Dallas?
It depends on the repair and the parts your car needs. Your mechanic gives you the price after looking at the car and before any work starts. Booking online costs nothing.
Do I have to be there during the repair?
Not always. Many customers hand over the keys and get back to work. We do need access to the car and a way to reach you by phone.
What cars do you work on?
Most everyday cars, trucks, SUVs and minivans, gas and hybrid. If you drive something unusual, mention it in the booking notes and we'll let you know.
Can you come to my office parking garage?
Usually yes. Most repairs fit in a regular parking space. If your garage has height limits or building rules, add them to the booking notes.
