Dallas Mobile MechanicWhat we collect
When you book a mechanic, we collect what you enter in the booking form: your name, email, phone number, your vehicle's year, make, model, engine and VIN (if you give it), the address where the vehicle is, the day and time window you want, and any notes. When you use the contact form, we collect your name, email, phone (optional) and message.
When you use Ask a Mechanic, we keep your name, phone, email, your vehicle details, your messages and any photos you send, so the mechanic can answer and the conversation is there when you come back. Photos have their location data removed before they're sent.
If you tap "Locate me", your browser shares your location once so we can fill in the street address. If you scan a VIN, the photo is used only to read the VIN and is not stored.
How we use it
- To schedule and carry out your repair, and to contact you about it.
- To send you a confirmation and sign-in links for My bookings.
- To answer your messages and chats, and to let you know when the mechanic has replied (by notification if you turn them on, or by email).
We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
Your booking goes to the mechanic who will do the work. We also rely on a small number of trusted service providers to host the site, store information securely, send emails and notifications, block spam, and look up vehicle and address details. They process your information only to provide those services to us, and aren't allowed to use it for anything else.
Cookies
We use small cookies only to keep you signed in to My bookings, to keep your chat on this device, and for mechanics and admins to stay signed in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
